  • 2 oz good olive oil
  • 3 oz dry vermouth
  • 3 oz water
  • Jar with lid
  • Fine mesh strainer
  • Freezer-safe bottle

Directions

Step 1

Build the Infusion

In a jar:

  1. Add gin or vodka
  2. Add the Lemon Basil cocktail infusion
  3. Add olive oil
  4. Seal and shake
  5. Let sit for approximately 9 hours at room temperature

Remove the infusion. Place the jar in the freezer for 3 hours.

The olive oil will solidify and separate — this is what gives the Martini its silky mouthfeel.

Why a Lemon Basil Cocktail Infusion Works in a Martini

The Martini is botanical at its core.

A gin infusion with Lemon Basil enhances juniper, citrus peel, and herbal structure.

A vodka infusion adds brightness and complexity to an otherwise neutral spirit.

You’re not masking the Martini.
You’re refining it. Get your single cocktail infusions here

Martini Variations 101

  • Dry Martini: (More Spirit-Forward): 2.5 oz gin + 0.5 oz dry vermouth.
  • 50/50 Martini: Equal parts (1.5 oz) gin and dry vermouth.
  • Dirty Martini: Add 0.5 oz to 1 oz olive brine to the mix, garnish with olives.
  • Gibson: Use a cocktail onion as the garnish instead of a lemon twist or olive.
  • Vesper Martini: 2 oz gin, 0.5 oz vodka, 0.25 oz Lillet Blanc.

Don't forget - you can always start these with a cocktail infusion of the gin, vodka or vermouth to enhance your favorite martini styles!
